Trader Joe’s Is Opening 19 New Stores—Is One Near You?

 

Get your reusable bags ready! Trader Joe’s is finishing the year strong with a wave of exciting new store openings in December 2025.

From sunny California to the Virginia coast, check out the full list of confirmed locations below.

Plus, we’ve recapped the stores that opened earlier this fall and the “Coming Soon” locations you need to keep on your radar for 2026.

The December Drop: Stores Opening Now

These locations have officially opened their doors this month or are scheduled to open before New Year’s Day.

1. Costa Mesa, California

• Status: NOW OPEN (Opened Dec. 11, 2025)

• Location: 2170 Harbor Blvd (at Victoria St)

• Details: A 9,500+ sq. ft. store in a former “99 Cents Only” location, opened just in time for holiday shopping.

2. Virginia Beach, Virginia (Town Center)

• Status: OPENING FRIDAY (Dec. 19, 2025)

• Location: 220 Constitution Drive

• Details: The second Virginia Beach location (replacing a Bed, Bath & Beyond) launches this Friday.

3. Kingwood, Texas

• Status: NOW OPEN (Opened Dec. 5, 2025)

• Location: 600 Kingwood Dr.

• Details: This long-awaited location in the Houston area is officially open for business.

4. Melbourne, Florida

• Status: NOW OPEN (Opened Dec. 3, 2025)

• Location: 2221 Town Center Ave (The Avenue Viera)

• Details: Serving the Space Coast, this store opened early in the month to big crowds.

5. Columbia, South Carolina

• Status: NOW OPEN (Opened Dec. 12, 2025)

• Location: 275 Harbison Blvd

• Details: Located in the Harbison corridor, this store brought TJs back to the top of the request list for SC residents.

6. Williamsville, New York

• Status: NOW OPEN (Opened Dec. 12, 2025)

• Location: 5017 Transit Rd

• Details: A new Buffalo-area location that opened just in time for the winter season.

7. Cypress, Texas

• Status: PROJECTED DECEMBER (Late Dec 2025)

• Location: 9715 Towne Lake Parkway

• Details: While minor weather delays were reported, this store is effectively complete and targeting a year-end launch.

8. Lacey, Washington

• Status: NOW OPEN (Opened Nov. 14, 2025)

• Location: 691 Sleater Kinney Rd SE

• Details: A major win for the Olympia area, this store is now fully operational.

9. Daytona Beach, Florida

• Status: NOW OPEN (Opened Nov. 14, 2025)

• Location: 1511 Cornerstone Blvd

• Details: Located at Tomoka Town Center, this was a key opening for the Florida market.

Here is the “Continuity List” of stores that have been announced or are in early construction stages. While some were initially targeted for late 2025, most are now expected to announce grand opening dates in early-to-mid 2026.

• Details: Construction is underway to serve the West Valley.

11. Hamden, Connecticut

• Details: Plans have been filed, but this location is likely a 2026 opening.
