The trick is knowing which marked-down buys deserve a spot in your cart. These five Kroger finds are the ones I check for when I’m hunting for real savings on an ordinary grocery run.
Prices were checked at a Kroger in Granbury, Texas on October 24; they vary by store and change with each week’s ad.
1. Kroger Red Mesh Clearance Produce Bags (assorted) – $0.99
Near the bananas, red mesh bags hold assorted imperfect or near-date produce such as peppers, plantains, or apples. At the approximate $0.99 bag price, they are excellent meal-prep buys when everything passes a careful condition check.
Parting Thoughts: For soups, pies, or planned freezer prep, this is usually my first clearance stop.
2. Simple Truth Cold Deli Fresh Whole Rotisserie Chicken – $9.99
My evening deli lap includes checking this refrigerated 2-pound rotisserie chicken around 6:30–7 p.m. The regular $9.99 price is not a clearance win this week, but a manager markdown can make an unsold bird far more useful for salads, soups, and several meals.
Parting Thoughts: That late-day sticker is worth waiting for; at full price, I keep looking.
3. Kroger Bakery Fresh Goodness Reduced Bread / Naan / Rolls
Before leaving the bakery, scan the dedicated reduced shelf for loaves, naan, and rolls nearing their sell-by date. These staples are typically marked about 50% off, making them practical party or everyday buys when you can freeze them the same day.
Parting Thoughts: Half-price bakery basics earn their cart space when none will go to waste.
4. Heritage Farm Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs – $3.49/lb

For a freezer-building protein run, these refrigerated family-pack chicken thighs deserve a close look across the full meat case. They are currently $3.49/lb with a card through 10/27, down from $3.99/lb, and any separate reduced sticker would improve an already lower price.
Parting Thoughts: At $3.49/lb, this is the current card deal I would build several dinners around.
5. Pagoda Frozen Crunchy Vegetable Egg Rolls – $6.99

Frozen end-caps and clearance freezers are where I look for this 22-ounce package of oven-prepared vegetable egg rolls. Marked down to $6.99 from $7.99, it is a modest current saving with better stock-up potential if your store adds another clearance sticker.
Parting Thoughts: A dollar off is useful, though the deeper clearance tag is the real prize here.
