You can shop Costco for years and still miss some of its best buys. These aren’t the rotisserie chicken or viral snacks everyone already knows. They’re the quiet Costco finds hiding in plain sight.
1. Kirkland Signature Italian Parmigiano Reggiano
Price: About $27 for a roughly 1.5-pound wedge on Costco Same-Day
This big wedge can disappear into Costco’s crowded cheese case, but take a closer look. It’s genuine Parmigiano Reggiano from Italy that’s aged for more than 24 months—not simply a generic block labeled Parmesan.
It’s salty, nutty and firm enough to grate beautifully over pasta, but it’s also good enough to shave onto salads or eat by itself.
Worth knowing: Once you start buying Parmesan by the wedge, the pre-shredded tub gets a lot less tempting.
2. Kirkland Signature Imported Basil Pesto
Price: About $11.34 for 22 ounces on Same-Day; Costco recently advertised it at $9.99 in warehouses.
I’ve watched plenty of shoppers move right past this jar while loading up on dips and prepared foods. That’s a mistake.
Costco’s version uses imported Italian Genovese basil, and it continues to show up in recent Costco food recommendations.
Don’t limit it to pasta. Spoon it onto sandwiches, toss it with roasted potatoes, stir some into soup or spread it under mozzarella before making pizza.
3. Kirkland Signature Super Premium Vanilla Ice Cream
Price: Costco recently advertised the two half-gallon pack for $12.99; Same-Day was about $14.74.
Vanilla doesn’t exactly scream “Costco hidden gem,” which may explain why people keep overlooking this one.
Then they finally try it.
A July 2026 Reddit post from someone who had assumed the hype was exaggerated pulled more than 3,300 upvotes, and another August discussion passed 1,000. Shoppers repeatedly describe it as unusually thick and rich for vanilla ice cream.
The move: Warm brownies, peach cobbler or apple pie. That’s where this ice cream really earns freezer space.
Sneak peek: The next few aren’t flashy at all. One is sitting beside Kerrygold, another comes in two giant glass jars, and one is a bottle olive-oil fans specifically wait for.
4. Kirkland Signature Grass-Fed Butter
Price: Roughly $11 for four 8-ounce blocks before temporary promotions; prices vary.
Kerrygold gets most of the attention in Costco’s butter case, but the Kirkland package next to it has built its own following.
It’s a product of New Zealand and Costco identifies it as 95% grass-fed. In a January 2026 Costco discussion, several shoppers compared the two, including longtime Kerrygold buyers who said they had switched to Kirkland.
It’s especially good spread on warm bread, baked potatoes or anywhere the butter itself actually matters.
5. Kirkland Signature Marinated Artichoke Hearts
Price: About $11 to $12 for two 33-ounce jars in many warehouses; Same-Day recently showed $12.25.
These might be the definition of a Costco sleeper.
They’re Spanish artichoke hearts packed as halves and quarters in an oil-based marinade. Just this month, Allrecipes singled them out as an overlooked Costco dinner shortcut, while Costco members have been swapping ideas for using them in salads, sandwiches and other meals.
Drain them and add them to pizza, pasta, chopped salads or an antipasto board.
Best trick: Air-fry them until the edges start to crisp.
6. Kirkland Signature Toscano Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Price: About $21.55 for 1 liter on Costco Same-Day
This bottle gets lost in Costco’s wall of olive oil, but it’s one longtime members should actually stop and inspect.
The Toscano is cold-pressed in Tuscany, and Costco has worked with Tuscan olive growers on its PGI olive-oil program for decades. The 2025–26 bottles also generated fresh discussion among olive-oil enthusiasts this year.
This is the bottle I’d save for dipping bread, finishing soup, dressing tomatoes or drizzling over burrata rather than burying it in a frying pan.
7. TortillaLand Ready-to-Cook Flour Tortillas
Price: Around $8.27 for 36 on Same-Day when available
The package looks like regular tortillas. It isn’t.
These are sold uncooked and finish in a hot skillet in roughly a minute. Costco employees highlighted them again in September 2026 because of their freshness and versatility.
That extra minute changes the experience completely. You get a warm, soft tortilla with the slightly chewy texture you usually don’t get from a shelf-stable package.
Heads-up: Distribution is regional, so this is one to grab when your warehouse actually carries it.
Sneak peek: Don’t rush through the freezer aisle next. Two surprisingly good shrimp finds are hiding there, including a 40-count dim sum box that’s ready in minutes.
8. Royal Asia Prawn Hacao
Price: Around $18 for 40 pieces on Same-Day when stocked
This nondescript freezer box is very easy to walk past if you aren’t specifically looking for dim sum.
Inside are 40 handcrafted prawn dumplings with soy-ginger sauce. Costco lists them as precooked and ready in about three minutes. Members who’ve found them have talked about stocking multiple boxes when they return because availability can be spotty.
The translucent wrapper and shrimp filling make these feel much closer to a quick dim-sum lunch than a typical frozen appetizer.
One tip: Several fans prefer their own soy, chili crisp or dipping sauce to the included packet.
9. Kirkland Signature Tempura Shrimp
Price: Costco recently advertised the 30-count box for $17.99; Same-Day was about $20.42.
Another plain-looking freezer box that deserves more attention.
You get 30 shrimp in crispy tempura batter plus dipping sauce. A May 2026 discussion asking whether they were worth buying quickly filled with members recommending them for air-fryer dinners and shrimp tacos.
My favorite idea from shoppers isn’t even serving them as an appetizer: put them into tortillas with crunchy slaw and spicy mayo for a ten-minute dinner.
10. Kirkland Signature Organic Pure Maple Syrup
Price: About $14.74 for 33.8 ounces on Same-Day
It’s easy to treat maple syrup like another boring pantry purchase. Costco’s bottle deserves a second look.
It’s USDA Organic, 100% pure maple syrup and Grade A amber with a rich taste—not pancake syrup made primarily from corn syrup and flavoring.
Use it for pancakes, obviously, but also try it in oatmeal, homemade granola, glazes, salad dressing or a maple-Dijon sauce.
Why it makes the list: This is the kind of Costco product you don’t get excited about until you realize how often you’re using it.
11. The Ground Beef Chub Behind the Meat Counter
Price: A Costco employee roundup published September 22 reported roughly $2.99 per pound for the 10-pound chub where available.
Here’s one even experienced Costco shoppers may not know exists because it often isn’t sitting in the display case.
Ask the meat department whether they’ll sell you one of the large ground-beef “chubs” they use behind the counter. A current Costco employee roundup highlighted the approximately 10-pound package as a particularly good-value buy.
There is one important catch: this is not standardized at every warehouse. Some locations sell them directly, some only have certain lean-to-fat ratios, and others won’t sell them at all. Member reports confirm that warehouse policies differ.
If you’re meal-prepping or have freezer space, though, it’s absolutely worth asking.

Nobody walks into Costco excited about plastic wrap.
Maybe they should.
The giant Stretch-Tite roll contains 3,000 feet, which explains the running Costco joke that one box becomes a member of the family. One viral member post documented a Kirkland roll that had lasted 17 years. Even a 2026 discussion joked about a newly opened box lasting until 2029.
Availability varies by region, but if you see the giant box, now you know why people talk about it.
13. Kirkland Signature 680 Thread Count Sheets
Price: About $79.44 for queen and $90.79 for king on Same-Day; warehouse prices and promotions can be lower.
Costco members can spend years buying groceries without ever paying attention to the bedding piles.
These sheets are made with California-grown Pima cotton and have a 680 thread count. More importantly, they continue to generate surprisingly loyal member comments. An August 2026 thread started because a shopper was worried Costco had discontinued them; other members quickly reported still finding them and buying repeat sets.
That’s a pretty good sign for a product most people walk past on the way to groceries.
14. Kirkland Signature Ultra Plush Microfiber Towels

Yes, these are usually hanging around Costco’s automotive supplies.
No, you don’t need to use them only on your car.
The 16-inch microfiber towels come in a 36-pack, and Costco says they’re designed to clean while drying and remove dust without scratching. Costco.com currently shows the product with thousands of overwhelmingly positive ratings across its listings.
Keep separate stacks for the garage, kitchen and general cleaning and they become one of those boring Costco buys you suddenly use everywhere.
15. Costco’s Discounted Restaurant Gift Cards
Price: Often $79.99 for $100 in value, although discounts vary by restaurant.
This might be the easiest Costco deal to overlook because you don’t necessarily have to put anything in your cart.
Costco currently sells $100 eGift-card packages for $79.99 for restaurants including Outback Steakhouse, Fogo de Chão, P.F. Chang’s, Domino’s, Landry’s brands and others. Some offers are even lower—for example, Costco currently lists a $100 inKind card for $74.99.
In other words, check Costco before paying full price for a restaurant you already planned to visit.
That isn’t an impulse buy. That’s simply buying the same dinner for less.
