Should you hold out on that Aisle of Shame purchase to see if there is an Aldi Black Friday sale?
Bargain shopping diehards know that often, to get the very best price of the year, you hold out for the Black Friday sales.
The day after Thanksgiving in the U.S. is considered by many to be the official start of the holiday season, and the kick-off to holiday shopping. Many stores hold huge Black Friday sales, sometimes slashing prices on everything in the store by a certain percentage.
Aldi Black Friday?
The savviest shoppers know that for certain categories of items, such as small kitchen appliances, toys, and holiday decor, Black Friday sales often have the very lowest prices of the season, or even the whole year.
And those categories are many of the things we shop for at Aldi. So should you wait for an Aldi Black Friday sale?
The answer is no, in the United States. Aldi does not have any special Black Friday sales. You may find any remaining fall decor or food items marked down at Aldi on the day after Thanksgiving, because it is the end of the season, but there are no special sales in the Aisle of Shame on this day.
Sales in Other Countries
You might be surprised to know that Black Friday is a thing in other countries, too. And, while the grocery chain does not officially call them “sales,” there are Aldi Black Friday specials.
In the U.K., Aldi offers Specialbuys, which are available in extremely limited amounts in store and sometimes online. During the Black Friday weekend in 2018, their Specialbuys included popular “Black Friday” items, including a Polaroid camera, wireless speakers, and a boombox.
The Specialbuys for Black Friday 2019 in Australia have already been released in an ad preview, and again they seem to be akin to an Aldi Black Friday sale. There is a 32-inch TV available for $222 AUD (about $150 USD), and a Qi wireless charger for $24.99 AUD (about $17 USD).
Will Aldi eventually get in on the U.S. Black Friday sale trend? While their business strategies are expanding and evolving, we don’t see them bowing to this very American tradition anytime soon. But we would love to see Aldi offer Specialbuys online in the U.S., as they do in other countries!
