We all know Costco offers great prices on bulk groceries, right? But did you know that they’re also an amazing source for a lot of often-overpriced health foods, wellness products, and organic groceries?
If you’re a fan of kombucha, then you already know how expensive it can be when you buy it by the bottle at a normal grocery store. Well, buckle in. You’re about to find out why Costco is the ultimate place to source kombucha.

Types of Kombucha at Costco
At my local Costco, I found three different brands of kombucha–Humm, Brew Dr, and Kirkland Signature. Unlike other shelf-stable drinks, kombucha has to be refrigerated, so I found it in one of the cooler aisles across from the meat and fish.
Despite some recent concerns raised online, Costco has not discontinued their Kirkland Signature Kombucha. Because of supply-chain issues, it’s been harder to come by recently, but it’s still around. If you see it pop up at your local Costco, I recommend snagging a case while you can!
While you might be able to find other brands of kombucha at your local Costco, these three brands seem to be the current staples for this wholesaler.
Costco does not currently sell any brands of kombucha on Costco.com, although you can find cases of Health-Ade Kombucha on CostcoBusinessDelivery.com here. If you live in Canada, you can order a 48-can case of Gutsy Kombucha from Costco.ca here for $149.99 CAD.
Finally, if you shop at Costco Business Centre in Canada, you can find GT’s Synergy Kombucha on their website here.
Although Costco has been known to carry KeVita Kombucha in the past, I wasn’t able to find it in stores or online.
How Much Does Kombucha Cost at Costco?
One of the best parts of buying kombucha at Costco is the price.
When you buy bottles of kombucha at a regular retail grocer, it’s not uncommon that you’ll be charged up to $5 per bottle. But at Costco, you can get up to eight bottles of kombucha for well under $15.
The Kirkland Signature Organic Kombucha, for example, costs $12.99 for a case of eight glass bottles…
These six-packs of Humm Kombucha are only $13.99…
You can also find them on CostcoBusinessDelivery.com for $30.59 for a 12-count case.
And finally, you can find six-packs of Brew Dr Kombucha at Costco for just $11.99…
Does Costco Sell Hard Kombucha?
If you’re a fan of hard kombucha, Costco has you covered.
Starting in 2019, Costco released these cases of KYLA Hard Kombucha, which can be found in the beer, wine, and spirits section (usually located towards the back of the store).
KYLA might not be available at all Costco locations, though. So, keep your eyes peeled and grab some when you find it. KYLA is not available through Costco.com.
Kirkland Signature Organic Ginger Lemonade Kombucha
Since I’ve already tried Brew Dr and Humm kombuchas in the past, I decided to give Kirkland Signature Kombucha a try this time around. It’s the best overall deal, since the cases come with eight 16-oz bottles. Each bottle comes out to just $1.60.
Ingredients & Nutrition
As you can see, this kombucha is made with filtered water, organic cane sugar, organic tea*, kombucha culture, organic ginger juice, organic lemon juice, and Bacillus subtilis probiotic culture. It’s certified raw (which means it’s unpasteurized), certified organic, and made in the USA.
Kirkland Signature Organic Kombucha is both vegan and gluten free.
Although all kombucha contains trace amounts of alcohol, this kombucha is guaranteed to contain less than 0.5% alcohol, which is below the threshold of an alcoholic beverage.
*Even though the label doesn’t indicate what kind of tea is used in the recipe, it’s likely a combination of green tea and black tea. Since both of these tea varieties contain fairly high levels of caffeine, it’s safe to assume that this kombucha (like most kombucha) is caffeinated. Unfortunately, it’s unclear exactly how much caffeine is in each bottle.
In one bottle of Kirkland Signature Kombucha, you’ll be consuming just 70 calories from 20 mg of sodium, 19 grams of carbs, and 18 grams of sugar. You’ll also be consuming 2 billion CFU of live probiotic cultures, which are amazing for gut health, digestion, and mood.
Because of the high sugar content, I wouldn’t recommend drinking kombucha everyday. But when you compare this stuff to other processed, sugary drinks, it definitely has way more to offer in the health department.
My Review
I give this kombucha 10/10!
There are so many things I love about the Kirkland Signature Organic Kombucha. First off, it’s made with 100% organic ingredients (which I love), and it sticks to a simple, straightforward recipe.
The flavor is perfect, especially for people who love the punch of ginger. That said, if you’re not a fan of spicy ginger, this kombucha probably shouldn’t be your first choice. The lemon flavor is definitely there, but the ginger is much more prominent.
I also appreciate that this kombucha isn’t overly sweet and doesn’t contain any added flavors.
All in all, Costco is the ultimate place to buy kombucha, in my opinion. Their own store-brand option is top-shelf quality, organic, and priced at just $13 for eight generously sized glass bottles. Plus, you can choose from a range of other brands, too, if you prefer a milder or fruitier flavor to your kombucha.
If you’re a fan of kombucha or just looking to try out something new, definitely add a case of Kirkland Signature Organic Kombucha to your shopping list for your next Costco run!
