Can Walgreens Look Up Your Receipts?
Unfortunately, Walgreens employees cannot look up or reprint customer receipts or transaction records.
However, you can keep track of your own receipts online by signing up for myWalgreens. With myWalgreens, you can look up your online order history anytime here, and you can also sign up for digital receipts within the myWalgreens app to keep track of all of your in-store purchases.
Even if you don’t have a myWalgreens account, you can still look up any orders placed through Walgreens.com here as long as you have your order number (found in your order confirmation email).
If you are not a myWalgreens member, there is no way for Walgreens to look up your transactions for in-store purchases.
myWalgreens (formerly Walgreens Balance Rewards)
So, what is myWalgreens anyway?
myWalgreens is the free Walgreens customer rewards program, which replaced their previous rewards program (Walgreens Balance Rewards) back in 2020.
By using the free myWalgreens rewards program and app, you can receive digital copies of your receipts for all of your in-store purchases. This means that you will never have to worry about holding onto paper receipts, and you’ll always have a record of your purchases in case you end up needing a refund.
There is no signup or annual fee associated with joining myWalgreens, and you can sign up anytime online here.
Should You Sign Up?
If you’re a frequent Walgreens shopper, there’s really no downside to signing up for myWalgreens. It’s a free rewards program that offers you close to a dozen perks and benefits.
Even if you only use myWalgreens for tracking your receipts, this benefit alone could make it worth signing up for the program.
Some of the other benefits of signing up for myWalgreens include…
- Access to exclusive sale prices
- 1% cash rewards on all Walgreens purchases (including Pharmacy purchases)
- 5% cash rewards on all Walgreens brand products
- Personalized deals on items you frequently purchase
- Expedited curbside, drive-thru, and in-store pickup
- Order delivery in as little as one hour with no order minimum
- Contactless checkout
- Rewards instantly redeemable at checkout
- Receive digital receipts in the app to track your purchases and expedite returns
If you ask me, this is one of the most amazing free rewards programs I’ve ever heard of! If you shop at Walgreens on a regular basis, you’d be missing out big time by not signing up for this program.
Can You Return Items Without A Receipt?
Unfortunately, Walgreens does not offer full refunds to customers who cannot provide proof of purchase. Instead, you might be offered store credit at the lowest advertised price for your item if you cannot provide a receipt. However, no-receipt returns are up to the discretion of store managers.
The same holds true for returning gifts to Walgreens if you can’t provide a gift receipt. Keep in mind that Walgreens tracks no-receipt returns, which is why they will ask to see your ID when offering you a store credit refund. You will receive your Walgreens store credit in the form of a Walgreens gift card.
Proof of purchase at Walgreens can look like…
- A paper sales receipt
- A digital receipt inside of the myWalgreens app or on Walgreens.com
- Your order number
How Long Do You Have To Return Items?
Walgreens allows 30 days for return requests. Once those 30 days have passed, you will no longer qualify for a refund.
However, Walgreens notes that returns are handled at the discretion of the store manager. So, if you want to attempt to get a refund even if more than 30 days have passed, you might get lucky depending on how the manager feels about your situation.
Walgreens Return Policy Exceptions
Walgreens does not accept returns of the following items…
- Gift cards
- Prepaid cards
- Phone cards
- Sexual wellness products (such as condoms, pregnancy tests, etc.)
- Seasonal items
- Hazmat items
- Covid-19 testing kits
