Aldi Protein Powder – Is it Any Good?

Whether you’re into fitness and need protein to fuel your workouts or simply want to add more protein into your diet as part of a lower-carb lifestyle, protein powder is a quick and easy way to get a healthy dose of protein and nutrients into your daily routine. But let’s face it— protein powders can be expensive! That’s where Aldi comes in with their lineup of Elevation by Millville Protein Powder.

Let’s take a look at Aldi Protein Powder, including flavors, ingredients and most importantly, taste!

Aldi carries a line of whey protein powder with 30g protein per serving under their private label Elevation by Millville brand. When you see the tubs of protein powders on the shelf with other protein bars and shakes, look for the Elevation branding.

A 2lb tub of 18 servings is $18.69 on Instacart, which means the price will definitely be lower in stores, most likely in the $15.99-$16.99 range. We will update this post as soon as we get the most accurate pricing.

Aldi protein powder is not vegan as it contains whey protein from milk.

Is Aldi protein powder Keto?

Aldi protein powder is not packaged as being keto— however, there are between 7-8 net carbs per serving depending on the flavor. If mixed with water or almond milk, Aldi protein powder could work within a keto diet if a serving replaces a meal or snack. If you are strict keto, the net carbs in Aldi protein powder are not ideal. The protein of 30g per serving of protein powder can absolutely work with a low-carb lifestyle even with 7-8 net carbs per serving.

How Good is Aldi Protein Powder?

The taste of protein powder varies greatly depending on your palate. We have purchased and tried the Aldi chocolate protein powder and are fans, especially for the price.  It is rich and creamy. The key for us is to make sure the Aldi protein powder is completely blended. We do this by using a Ninja blender with a smoothie cup.

Here are a few more reviews from the Aldi Aisle of Shame Facebook Community:

“I love it. It’s my favorite, better than any others I’ve tried. The chocolate one is the best.”

“Yes! I use it in fruit smoothies. It tastes pretty good and does not have that weird protein mouth feel.”

“I use the vanilla and its awesome I just shake it up and no clumps.”

“Both are very good with unsweetened vanilla almond milk

“I like the vanilla. I think it tastes like birthday cake!”
