And one of the things that first attracted us to Aldi was the unique cheese available there.
We love cheese in just about any form, and we love trying new ones. So in this department, Aldi does not disappoint.
But sometimes, Aldi exceeds all of our expectations.
And this? This is one of those times.
Because this, Aisle of Shame friends, is the Aldi Halloween Cheese Collection — just one of the many Halloween foods Aldi is releasing in October.

Aldi Halloween Cheese
Aldi is re-releasing four Halloween-themed cheese this year under the Emporium Selection brand. The selection includes a wax-coated cheddar, two wax-coated, flavored Wensleydale cheeses, and an herbed Derby.
Let’s take a closer look, shall we?
Freaky Franken Sage Derby
This mild Derby cheese is infused with dried sage. If you aren’t familiar with Derby cheese, it is a British cow’s milk cheese that is known for its mild, buttery flavor. It is a hard cheese, but it is softer and creamier than the more familiar cheddar. Sage Derby is made by combining dried sage with the cheese curd, so that the cheese has green veining and an herby flavor. Hey, herby Derby — see what we did there?
Scary Pumpkin Spice Wensleydale Cheese
This wax-coated Wensleydale Cheese is sold in a familiar pumpkin shape with a jack o’ lantern printed on the label. You can’t have a Halloween Cheese Collection without some pumpkin spice, right? Wensleydale is another British cow’s milk cheese. It is known for its mild, honey flavor. And that flavor should combine well with the flavors in this cheese that give it the pumpkin spice — cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg.
Bat Knit Crazy Cheddar
We love a good cheddar, and we’re hoping this Bat Knit Crazy Cheddar cheese doesn’t disappoint. It comes wrapped in black wax and is a block of aged cheddar cheese. We love the creepy-cute name and theming on this selection!
No Rest for the Wicked Wensleydale Cheese
This Aldi cheese promises to be the sweetest cheese in this Halloween collection. Another Wensleydale cheese, this one contains strawberries and prosecco! With a white wax wrapper and sugar skull theming, this cheese has the potential to fly off the shelves.
All of these specially-themed cheese are priced at $3.99 each. Each package is 6-7 ounces.
We think any or all of them would add delicious variety to a charcuterie board. Since they are all classified as hard cheese, you may want to add in some additional textures if you decide to use these cheeses on a cheeseboard. We’re also thinking these would make an amazing hostess gift for that Halloween party you’re invited to!
